The mission of Anselm Bible Church (A.B.C.) is to prepare and train each believer so that they have a working knowledge of scripture (Luke 6:40); believers that are fully equipped to fulfill the great commission and “make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28: 19-20).

We believe that the pastor/teacher has a great responsibility in the believers development. However each believer must be able to “rightly divide the word of truth” for themselves and ultimately should be capable of teaching others (2 Timothy 2:2,15).

We emphasize the importance of Expository (verse-by-verse) Preaching and teaching and the use of Systematic Theology in our efforts to accomplish our mission. The result is a body of believers with a firm foundation and the ability to explain what they believe and why they believe it with wisdom and grace (1 Peter 3:15).

WHAT WE TEACH AT Anselm Bible Church (ABC)

At Anselm Bible Church (or “A.B.C.”), we teach that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man.
Therefore, all 66 books of the Bible given to us by His Holy Spirit are equally inspired in all parts and indeed the Bible is the Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We teach that the word of God is unfailing and breathed by God Himself to the men he inspired to write the text (2 Timothy 3:16).

Therefore, the Bible is absolutely without error in the original documents. We teach that God has revealed His character and His nature to mankind in His inspired scriptures and that this revealed nature is absolutely reliable/propositional revelation (man can absolutely rely upon this revelation) (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 2:13).

We teach the literal grammatical-historical interpretation of scripture which fully affirms creation by God in six literal days (Genesis 1:31; Exodus 31:17).

We teach that the Bible is the ONLY infallible standard of belief and behavior (Matthew 5:18; 24:35; John 10:35; 16:12-13; 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

At A.B.C we teach that God used what is known as “dual authorship” to speak the Word to man.

The Word of God was composed as the Holy Spirit inspired 40 men to author the Bible, using their individual personalities and writing styles (2 Peter 1:20-21).

The result is The Holy Bible which is without error in whole or in part
(Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16).

At A.B.C, we teach that though there may be several applications of any given passage of scripture, there is only one true interpretation. The Holy Spirit shall enlighten and reveal that one true meaning of the text to each Christian as they diligently apply the literal grammatical-historical method of interpretation (John 7:17; 16:12-15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-15; 1 John 2:20).

At A.B.C., we constantly reaffirm the responsibility of each believer to discover the true intent of the scripture.

The pastor/teacher is to toil over the text, study and present the truth of the Word as revealed by the Holy Spirit.

However, it is the responsibility of each and every Christian to toil over and study the text to ensure and affirm the truth.

At A.B.C., we emphasize that Biblical truth must be carefully ascertained recognizing that proper application is binding on all generations. We also ever affirm that the truth of Scripture stands in judgment of men and that men never stand in judgment of it/Biblical Truth.

Our Services

At Anselm Bible Church we believe equipping the Christian with the ability to rightly divide the word of truth for oneself, using an inductive approach of studying. An inductive study, a method anyone can use, involves three skills: observation, interpretation, and application.

ABC covers a variety of Bible Study topics in which we learn, grow, and develop a deeper relationship with God. In addition, our Wednesday evening class equips people by giving them tools to understand and live out their Christian life.
